Involvement with Every Mile Counts Project refurbishing Leeds & Liverpool Canal mile markers.

CPRE is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a certificate of appreciation for their support of the Every Mile Counts Project which was launched this year by the the Canal & River Trust to mark the bicentenary of the Leeds and Liverpool canal, the longest canal in Britain. The project aims to repair or replace each of the 127 historic mile markers along the canal.

The project asked for volunteers and community workers to help support the repair and replacement of the mile markers. CPRE Yorkshire and the Humber were happy to help and very much enjoyed working on this project. Credit goes to CPRE’s Ron Healy for his assistance and dedication.
